Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

The review you are currently reading is on Shiver. It is 1st of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Shiver was written by Maggie Stiefvater. I would classify this book as Young Adult. I gave it a 4 star rating. I will explain later in this review.

Grace has been intruged by the 'Wolves of Mercy Falls' since she was 'attacked' when she was younger. During the attack she got saved by one of the wolves and has been watching him ever since. She sees them every winter but they mysteriously dissappear every summer. Are these just everyday wolves or are they something different? Grace has been asking herself this for quite some time. Then she finally finds the wolf that saved her, saving him. Is there more to this wolf than meets the eye?

Sam has been traped in his wolf body all winter, watching his dream girl, Grace. Now it is summer he is determined to get the girl for himself. Will she see who he really is? Will she love him like he has loved her for the past five years of her life or will she not recognize him? And, most importantly, will she discover all the secrets he carries with him?

From the beautiful summer romance to the twisted plot I loved every second of this book. Grace and Sam are two truly amazing characters and seem to go together perfectly. Stiefvater has made the perfect summer love story. I can't give this book anything less than 5 stars.

  1. SHIVER is a melancholy, romantic novel with equal parts tenderness and passion. Readers will find themselves swept up in Grace and Sam's unfolding relationship as they are finally able to talk and touch, and struggle to hold on to what little time they have together. The book is filled with gorgeous imagery that comes alive in your mind, and adds to the sense of fleeting beauty.
